Time Duration: 60 to 90 minutes

Price Range: Some tunings require more work than others and pricing will reflect that. Please text/call/email for an estimate and if you qualify for any special discounts.

Piano Repairs and More

Does your piano need more than its regularly scheduled tune? Michael shines when your piano doesn't tune, and needs a bit more attention. Michael worked on his first piano when he was 12 years old, so he's come across it all! In Tune Piano Service covers all of the below repairs and services. And of course diagnostics and estimates.

Pitch Raises - Have a well-traveled piano that's new to you? If pianos haven't been tuned for a few years, it may need a pitch raise. Once the pitch of the piano falls beyond a certain threshold, the strings will become unstable and require more attention to stabilize and tune.

Regulation - Every key on the piano has many adjustable components. The action is made of wood and felt, and every couple of years the action parts might be adjusted and regulated to compensate for the wear and tear.

Reconditioning and Restoration - Every piano has a story and the longer their story, the better. As pianos age, some parts will require replacement over repairs. For example, the extreme fluctuations in temperature and humidity (especially here on Long Island) will accelerate a piano's wear and tear.

Sticky Keys - Stick happens. Sticky keys is the catch all expression for anything not working correctly: keys not moving properly, slow hammers, the note continues to play even when the key is released, or your keys are actually sticking.

Voicing - When the hammer hits the strings, the tone produced by each hammer relies on the density and shape of the hammer. Over time, many grooves start to appear on the hammers, and they get very hardened causing very harsh tone. This would require hammers to be filled and sanded, and voiced as necessary.
